The Decentralized Service for Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (SENCAMER) is a body attached to the Ministry of National Commerce of Venezuela. Its main objective is to promote the quality of products, processes and services offered in the country, through Standardization, Metrology, Accreditation and Technical Regulations.

Within its competencies, in the area of Standardization, SENCAMER is consolidated as a fundamental pillar to promote the competitiveness of the products, processes and services offered in Venezuela so that they offer safety to those who consume those products and services or what is derived from those processes.

Through 41 Technical Standardization Committees and 143 Technical Standardization Subcommittees, this body develops Venezuelan COVENIN Standards that establish, among other aspects, terms and definitions, requirements and test methods for the harmonization of quality standards in relation to national needs. This standardization process not only facilitates fair trade and the protection of consumers' socioeconomic rights but also drives innovation and sustainability by promoting efficient and responsible practices. Furthermore, the active participation of sectors such as academic, the public and private spheres in these committees ensures that standards are derived from technical consensus and benefit Venezuelan society as a whole.

SENCAMER also plays a strategic role in the development of the country's Quality Infrastructure and strengthens Metrology to guarantee reliable measurements, as well as the certification of those products and services that comply with national and international standards. Through the development of technical standards and the strengthening of the regulatory framework, Venezuela is moving towards a more efficient production system aligned with global trends.
